Isaac Paredes Starting On Bench On Thursday
10 months agoTampa Bay Rays infielder Isaac Paredes is not included in Thursday's lineup versus the Baltimore Orioles. Taylor Walls spells him at third base for this one while batting eighth against right-hander Kyle Gibson. The switch-hitting Walls is not much of a recommended streamer while hitting .177 with a .599 OPS in 175 at-bats opposing right-handed pitching in 2023. Paredes, despite a lowly 28.3% hard-hit rate, is slashing a strong .257/.360/.493 with 17 home runs, 57 RBI, and one stolen base in 322 trips to the plate this year. It seems to render the 24-year-old something of a fantasy sell-high candidate without an everyday role on the packed Rays depth chart.
