7 months agoBoston Red Sox starting pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez earned his second victory Wednesday, allowing just one run on two hits over six innings while fanning seven and walking three against Detroit. It's Rodriguez's third straight start with at least six strikeouts, and it's evidenced Wednesday by an 18 percent swinging-strike rate, his second highest in five starts this year. It took him 90 pitches to get through the outing, but it was his first game without surrendering a home run. The Red Sox need more of this from a young arm like Rodriguez. He'll get his next chance to carry the strong momentum into a start with Oakland on Monday.--Steve Janik - RotoBaller
