Dylan Cease Has Work Cut Out To Get Right Versus Astros
1 year agoChicago White Sox starting pitcher Dylan Cease battles the Houston Astros on Saturday. It's been a tale of two halves for 27-year-old thus far, yielding two runs or fewer for a 2.01 ERA across his first four starts. Over Cease's next four starts, he's allowed 20 earned runs, watching his ERA swell to 5.58. The right-hander is being crushed by a 53% hard-hit rate this year. Cease aims to curb his troubles against an Astros lineup that has yet to break out in 2023 (.367 team slugging percentage), but he is 0-3 with a shaky 5.13 ERA in 26.1 career innings against Houston. Cease is a contrarian DFS play and fantasy managers in season-long settings wouldn't be remiss to sit the struggling starter for this one, either.
