Devin Vassell Expectedly Out Monday
6 months agoSan Antonio Spurs guard/forward Devin Vassell (groin) is listed as out for Monday's game versus the Indiana Pacers. There's not much of a surprise here, after Vassell sustained a left adductor strain on Thursday against the Phoenix Suns. Head coach Gregg Popovich previously stated that the 23-year-old rising star would likely be out for a "while" following Thursday's affair, but the Spurs are labeling him day-to-day for now. Popovich also said that Vassell is set to be re-evaluated sometime after Monday's action, which should give him a more concrete return timeline. The offensive-minded Malaki Branham has been the direct beneficiary of Vassell's void, burying 8-of-9 shots for 16 points and six rebounds in a start during Sunday's 123-116 loss to the Toronto Raptors. Cedi Osman and Doug McDermott could pick up a few more minutes against Indy, too.
