Dennis Smith Jr. Good To Go Wednesday
7 months agoBrooklyn Nets guard Dennis Smith Jr. (ankle) has been removed from the injury report ahead of Wednesday's opener versus the Cleveland Cavaliers. Smith practiced in a limited capacity Sunday and Tuesday with an ankle injury, which has gotten him on course for the home regular-season opener. The 25-year-old helped fill in for the injured LaMelo Ball on the Charlotte Hornets a year ago, averaging 8.8 points, 4.8 assists, and 1.4 steals in 54 games (15 starts). Smith is set to be Brooklyn's primary backup at the point behind Ben Simmons to begin 2023-24. The former No. 9 overall pick should provide some defensive energy and playmaking off the Nets bench but doesn't open the campaign with much fantasy appeal.
