Deandre Ayton, Jabari Walker Out Tuesday
4 months agoPortland Trail Blazers center Deandre Ayton (knee) and forward Jabari Walker (knee) are both out on Tuesday against the New York Knicks. Head coach Chauncey Billups says "hopefully soon" for Ayton's return from nagging tendinitis in his right knee, but the former No. 1 overall pick appears unlikely to do so for Friday's matchup with the Oklahoma City Thunder. Walker is inactive for the third game in a row due to soreness in his left knee, which likely forces Jerami Grant to play more minutes at the five. Duop Reath is worth streaming while Portland's frontcourt is depleted, as Moses Brown (wrist) is also unavailable. In eight games without Ayton this year, Reath is putting up 12.0 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 1.8 threes per game and posted a 15-point, 13-board double-double in 41 minutes during Sunday's overtime win over the Brooklyn Nets.
