David Robertson Handles Phillies For Five-Out Save
10 months agoNew York Mets relief pitcher David Robertson nailed down his 11th save of the season in Saturday's 4-2 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies. The 38-year-old was summoned during the eighth inning to help Adam Ottavino out of a jam, inducing a timely double play to end the frame. Robertson allowed a Brandon Marsh single in the ninth, but generated another DP to close it out for the Mets. It was the right-hander's first save of the month with his last coming on May 31 largely in part due to New York's June swoon. Robertson holds an excellent 1.64 ERA and 1.00 WHIP across 33 innings as the primary closer in Queens.
