Danny Jansen Fractures Finger On Friday
8 months agoToronto Blue Jays catcher Danny Jansen (finger) suffered a fractured finger in Friday's game against the Colorado Rockies. The 28-year-old was hit in the right hand by a foul tip in the sixth inning, finishing the frame behind the plate before he exited ahead of his at-bat in the seventh. He went 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBI before departing. Jansen missed a few games after being hit on the same hand by a pitch earlier in August, but he's likely facing a more significant absence with this injury. Toronto will re-evaluate the backstop on Saturday, but fantasy managers likely shouldn't expect Jansen back for several weeks. 2023 disappointment Alejandro Kirk will get all the action he can handle behind the dish while Jansen, who is hitting .228 with 17 homers, 53 RBI, and a .786 OPS in 268 at-bats, is on the shelf.
