Corey Seager Could Resume Swinging Soon
10 months agoTexas Rangers shortstop Corey Seager (thumb) received a cortisone injection on Saturday. The 29-year-old also got the splint from his thumb removed and is expected to start taking swings again early this week. Seager was forced to the 10-day injured list last Saturday, July 22, after spraining his thumb during a head-first slide in July 21's game. If all goes well, the four-time All-Star could reasonably return to the fold as early as next weekend after Seager initially envisioned around a two-week timetable. He is hitting an AL-high .350 with 15 home runs, 58 RBI, 47 runs scored, and one stolen base over 268 at-bats this year.
