Chris Bassitt Moved Up To Start On Saturday
10 months agoToronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Chris Bassitt will take the hill for Saturday's game versus Zac Gallen and the Arizona Diamondbacks. Bassitt was initially slated to toe the rubber next on July 18 vs. the San Diego Padres, but is having his start pushed ahead for this one with Kevin Gausman (side) scratched with left side discomfort. Since 2021, Bassitt owns a 2.50 ERA with 16 strikeouts over 18 innings pitched against Arizona. The former All-Star has been very volatile all year, carrying a 6.83 ERA across his last six starts (27 2/3 IP) with a scoreless, 12-strikeout gem mixed in between. Bassitt takes a 4.81 ERA and 1.23 WHIP with 102 punchouts (109 2/3 IP) overall into Saturday's tilt.
