Chas McCormick Singles, Walks In Defeat
10 months agoHouston Astros center fielder Chas McCormick went 1-for-3 with a single and a walk in Friday's 4-3 defeat to the Tampa Bay Rays. The 28-year-old hit a third-inning single before drawing a ninth-inning walk to get the tying run aboard. Mauricio Dubon would get caught looking to end the game, though. McCormick is starting to cool a bit after an excellent June and scorching start to July, going just 1-for-10 after a six-RBI eruption on July 24. Still, the speedy outfielder remains on pace for a career season with the bat, slashing .279/.369/.521 with 13 home runs, 42 RBI, and 11 stolen bases covering 219 at-bats. Fantasy managers can ride McCormick while he's running hot, but his upside might be limited while hitting in the lower-third of the Astros order.
