Cam Thomas Unavailable Against Hawks
6 months agoBrooklyn Nets guard Cam Thomas (ankle) won't travel with the team to face the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday, ruling him out for the contest. The Nets expected Thomas to miss about two weeks with a left ankle sprain as of Nov. 9, so we're approaching the end of that proposed timetable. The 22-year-old offensive-minded guard, an early Most Improved Player candidate, has crushed it in a featured role, averaging 26.9 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 2.1 three-pointers in 32.4 minutes over eight games (seven starts) in 2023-24. Fantasy managers will have to keep Thomas tucked away as a stash in the meantime and hope that he gains clearance by the time Saturday comes against the Miami Heat. Lonnie Walker IV, nearly playing mid-round fantasy ball with 16.6 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 2.6 triples per game this year, should continue to be a regular member of head coach Jacque Vaughn's rotation until Brooklyn gets healthier.
