Byron Buxton Experiencing Knee Soreness
8 months agoMinnesota Twins outfielder/designated hitter Byron Buxton (hamstring/knee) is dealing with a flare-up of patella tendinitis in his right knee after he came out of Friday's rehab action at Triple-A St. Paul. The 29-year-old is viewed as day-to-day with the setback not assessed a significant one. In fact, the Twins are apparently not surprised after manager Rocco Baldelli stated that Buxton's "had this before" and they "still expect him back this year." While it's encouraging to hear that Buxton is only day-to-day, his return timetable still appears unclear. The speedy slugger has been on the injured list since Aug. 4 with a strained right hamstring and he may need additional rehab appearances before being activated. Matt Wallner will continue seeing regular at-bats in his stead.
