Brandon Woodruff Looks Very Sharp In Rehab Debut
9 months agoMilwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Brandon Woodruff (shoulder) fired three scoreless innings on two hits with four strikeouts in Saturday's game at High-A Wisconsin. The 30-year-old put forth a very encouraging performance in his rehab debut appearance, launching 27 of 32 pitches in the strike zone. Woodruff has sat on the injured list since April 11 with a right shoulder strain, so he's looking at another three or four minor-league starts to build himself back up before a potential activation. Mid-August seems like a reasonable timeframe for the right-hander's return if all goes smoothly. Woodruff, a fantasy ace when healthy, gave up only one run with 12 punchouts and three walks in 11 1/3 innings over two starts early this season.
