Blake Snell Hit Hard For Season-High Six Runs
12 months agoSan Diego Padres starting pitcher Blake Snell was knocked around for six runs in four innings against the Boston Red Sox on Friday, striking out five hitters. The supposed platoon advantage was nonexistent against the lefty-hitting Rafael Devers, who took him deep twice in this one. The former Cy Young award winner has not been stellar at any juncture this year, seeing his ERA stand at 4.61 at its peak. The 30-year-old has faltered under the weight of a tough schedule, having surrendered multiple runs in each start. Snell owns just one win to his 2023 ledger, too. He still has a good shot at jump-starting his campaign against the contact-oriented Washington Nationals lineup on Thursday.
