Ben Simmons Remains Out Against Hawks
6 months agoBrooklyn Nets guard/forward Ben Simmons (hip, back) won't travel with the team to face the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday, ruling him out for the contest. Simmons joins teammate Cam Thomas as a no-go for Wednesday's tilt in Atlanta, as he recovers from troublesome hip and back injuries. The New York Post's Brian Lewis reported on Nov. 14 that the Nets expected Simmons to "miss some time" to nurse these issues, but we're still in the dark regarding a more concrete timetable. The 27-year-old may not have been rekindling his All-Star form, but he served as Brooklyn's leading rebounder (10.8 per game) and assist man (6.7) during his six games of play before going down. Simmons sets his sights toward Saturday's home clash with the Miami Heat for a possible return. Dorian Finney-Smith and Royce O'Neale should continue splitting three-and-D minutes on the wings, while Spencer Dinwiddie functions as the squad's main facilitator.
