5 months agoThe Oakland Athletics agreed to an undisclosed one-year deal with free-agent starting pitcher Brett Anderson on Monday. He is scheduled to have a physical on Tuesday, and if he passes he'll be in camp with the team on Wednesday. The 31-year-old signed a minor league deal with Oakland last March and went 4-5 with a 4.48 ERA in just 17 starts due to injury. The left-hander also played for the A's from 2009-13 and has been on the injured list seven times, including twice last year. Anderson pitched better in the second half but is too big of an injury risk and doesn't strike out many (career 6.5 K/9 in 10 seasons). He's simply a flier in AL-only leagues.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
