Anthony Rizzo Homers Twice, Hits Go-Ahead Blast In Win
1 year agoNew York Yankees first baseman Anthony Rizzo went 2-for-3 with two long balls and three RBI on Friday night in a win over the Tampa Bay Rays. His solo shot in the eighth inning ended up acting as the deciding factor of the thrilling one-run triumph for New York. It was Rizzo's fourth multi-hit display in his last five games. The 33-year-old has been a mainstay of the Yankees lineup, hitting for both contact (.302 batting average) and power (.500 slugging percentage) in 2023. The three-time all-star is now up to eight big flies and 20 RBI on the campaign. Rizzo has a tough assignment against Shane McClanahan on Saturday, but the former Silver Slugger is raking with a .371 average and .948 OPS in 35 at-bats against southpaws this year.
