Anthony DeSclafani Aims For Rebound In Arizona
12 months agoSan Francisco Giants starting pitcher Anthony DeSclafani is lined up to face the Arizona Diamondbacks on Saturday. The 33-year-old sports a sharp 2.80 ERA across 45 innings this year, but he surprisingly struggled during his last start against the Washington Nationals in surrendering a season-high five runs. DeSclafani and fantasy managers alike hope for a bounce-back performance versus Arizona, a team that the right-hander is 4-2 against with a splendid 2.95 ERA over 58 career innings opposing the club. DeSclafani has sacrificed two earned runs or fewer in six out of nine career starts against the D-backs. The soft-tosser doesn't miss a ton of bats (18.8% strikeout rate), but he keeps base runners at a premium with a minuscule 2.3% walk rate.
