Quinn Hughes Registers First NHL Point
5 years agoVancouver Canucks defenseman Quinn Hughes recorded his first career point in his NHL debut on Thursday. Last summer's eighth overall NHL draft pick needed just two periods to make his way onto an NHL score sheet, registering a primary assist on Brock Boeser's go-ahead goal in the second period. Fresh off signing his entry-level pro contract on March 10th, Hughes also added two shots on goal and a takeaway in 15:36 of ice time in the contest. Given his incredible offensive ability (33 points in 32 games at the University of Michigan this year), the 19-year-old becomes a must-add fantasy asset and should be a strong early candidate to win Rookie of the Year honors next season. He'll be back in action again versus the Stars on Saturday.
