Lucas Giolito Rebounds With Quality Start In Win
9 months agoLos Angeles Angels starting pitcher Lucas Giolito threw six innings, permitting three runs on three hits and three walks with seven strikeouts in Tuesday's start versus the San Francisco Giants. He earned his seventh win of the year and his first since joining the Angels. Giolito was staked to a four-run lead in between two clean opening frames of work, but San Francisco would tag him for three runs in the third inning. The big right-hander then settled down to toss three more scoreless innings thereafter for a quality start, and the Halos would hold on to finally snap their seven-game losing skid. Giolito needed an encouraging showing in a big way after surrendering nine runs amid his last appearance against the Atlanta Braves. The former All-Star carries a 4.37 ERA, 1.26 WHIP, and 145:49 K:BB in 136 frames into a stiff road matchup against the Texas Rangers set for next Tuesday.
