9 months agoSan Diego Padres third baseman Manny Machado went 2-for-4 with a home run, three RBI, and two runs scored in Saturday's 8-3 comeback victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers. The 31-year-old slammed a fourth-inning homer to get the Friars on the board before contributing to San Diego's seven-run eighth-inning uprising with a go-ahead two-run single. After finishing second in NL MVP voting during 2022, Machado has put forth a very up-and-down campaign in 2023. He is hitting a modest .259 with a .785 OPS, 21 round-trippers, 65 RBI, and 54 runs scored across 374 at-bats.
