Marcus Semien Smacks First Homer Since Late June In Win
10 months agoTexas Rangers second baseman Marcus Semien went 1-for-2 with a solo home run, two additional runs scored, and two walks in Sunday's 6-5 win over the Cleveland Guardians. The 32-year-old thumped his first homer since June 26 in the first inning of this one, closing the book on a 15-game homerless skid. Semien got aboard twice more later in the game, ultimately coming around to score both times via a couple of Nathaniel Lowe singles. Sunday's effort represents an encouraging sign for Semien, who was also batting just .213 with a .588 OPS covering his prior 33 outings (141 at-bats). Overall, the 2023 All-Star is hitting .272 with a .785 OPS, 12 taters, 58 RBI, nine stolen bases, and an AL-high 75 runs scored (393 ABs) this year.
