Todd Frazier 2020 Outlook: Not Much To Offer At Age 34
4 years agoTodd Frazier has bounced around the league for the last few seasons and his numbers have been falling off since his 40-homer, 15-steal campaign in 2016. Now he will play for his fourth team in five years as he signed a one-year deal with the Rangers in the offseason. Frazier is regarded as a team leader and a great clubhouse presence, and that may help the Rangers otherwise, but there are no indicators of any statistical improvements to come in 2020. His Exit Velocity slipped from 89.5 to 88.2 last year. His xBA of .240 and BA of .251 also points you away from drafting him at all. If you do grab him very late, you may be passing on someone else with more promise, even if it’s with one of your very final picks. Even with an ADP of 564.89 you should look for better options this late in drafts. Frazier has settled into the range of a .240 BA/20-homer profile and that won’t help you win in mixed leagues. He will only be useful in mono leagues as he enters his age-34 season.
