8 months agoTampa Bay Rays outfielder Mallex Smith continued his campaign of speed Thursday versus the Blue Jays. He would steal two bases to raise his seasonal total to 35. The 35 steals is second in the American League. He also raised his batting average to .301, which is ninth in the American League. There has not been a Rays hitter to qualify that has hit .300 over a season in several years. His lack of power prevents him from reaching greater heights for fantasy but he has a place in all but the shallowest of leagues as long as he is eligible and stolen bases are a category that is rewarded.--Jamie Mellor - RotoBaller
