Devin Vassell Says He Will Return Against Clippers
6 months agoSan Antonio Spurs guard/forward Devin Vassell (groin) told reporters that he'll be back from a three-game absence for Wednesday's game versus the Los Angeles Clippers. Vassell downplayed the effects of his left adductor strain, calling it a nagging issue that the Spurs are just being cautious about after it was re-aggravated. San Antonio has not yet updated the status of the 23-year-old swingman on the official injury report, but we'll take his word for it, unless he suffers a setback sometime between morning shootaround and pregame warmups. Vassell could face a minutes restriction in his return, but he's averaging a sharp 17.3 points, 3.6 assists, and 2.4 threes in 28.9 minutes across nine games. Vassell's return would unplug Julian Champagnie from head coach Gregg Popovich's starting lineup, but he wasn't getting the job done as a fantasy streamer while averaging 6.7 points and 1.7 threes in 22.7 minutes over his three starts.
