De'Aaron Fox To Miss Some Time With Ankle Sprain
7 months agoSacramento Kings guard De'Aaron Fox (ankle) has dodged a serious right ankle injury but will miss some time. After rolling his ankle, Fox returned to try and close out Sunday's 132-127 overtime win versus the Los Angeles Lakers. Postgame X-rays showed a moderate ankle sprain, which is a better prognosis than one of the higher-grade variety. With that said, the 25-year-old is still likely to be unavailable for Wednesday's game against the Golden State Warriors. Fox is instrumental to head coach Mike Brown's up-tempo philosophy, averaging 31.3 points, 6.0 assists and 4.3 rebounds over three games this year. Microwave scorer Malik Monk figures to be the primary beneficiary of Fox's potentially week-long absence, but he averaged only 19.4 minutes during eight games without Fox last season. Davion Mitchell may also need to step up, while Domantas Sabonis garners heavier usage.
