Cedric Mullins Dropped To Fifth On Sunday
11 months agoBaltimore Orioles center fielder Cedric Mullins will start as the fifth batter for the first time in his career on Sunday versus right-hander Sonny Gray and the Minnesota Twins. The lefty-hitting Mullins occasionally occupies a lower part of the order against left-handed pitching, but shifts to the five-hole against a righty in this one. The 28-year-old is a quiet 4-for-24 (.167 BA) since returning from a near month-long absence with a right groin strain. Mullins perhaps aims to hit for more power in the heart of the order, altering his fantasy prospects. The former Silver Slugger is hitless (0-for-5) in his career opposing Gray.
