Recent Update

12/8:Earlier this week we saw Mark Melancon sign the biggest contract ever for a relief pitcher, but now that record has been shattered with Aroldis Chapman's new five-year, $86 million contract with the Yankees. He can opt out after the third year and has a full no-trade clause for those first three years. Now Chapman and Dellin Betances can return to the roles they had at the start of the 2016 season, with Chapman as the closer and Betances as the setup man. Chapman had a 2.08 ERA in 31 1/3 innings for New York last season before being dealt to the Cubs. After picking up a World Series ring in his short stint with Chicago, he takes a career 2.08 ERA, 0.99 WHIP, 182 saves and 15.2 K/9 back to the Bronx.--Kelly Terbest - RotoBaller
