Yordan Alvarez Gets On Track With Two Solo Blasts
2 months agoHouston Astros outfielder Yordan Alvarez busted his slump in Wednesday's 8-0 drubbing of the Toronto Blue Jays, going 4-for-5 with two home runs and three RBI. Entering the evening just 3-for-24 this season, Alvarez blasted a solo homer to get the scoring started in the third inning before driving in Jose Altuve for another run during the fourth frame, capping off a monster game with a mammoth solo shot in the sixth. The huge effort gets the 26-year-old slugging superstar's batting average up to .241 with a .796 OPS over his first 29 at-bats of the young season ahead of the start of the Lone Star Series on Friday against the defending-champion Texas Rangers. Alvarez prepares to face off with two right-handers and two lefties during the four-game set, but he's as matchup-proof that a left-handed fantasy hitter can come.
