Lauri Markkanen Out, Jordan Clarkson Active Monday
6 months agoUtah Jazz forward Lauri Markkanen (hamstring) is out for Monday's game versus the New Orleans Pelicans, but guard Jordan Clarkson (illness) is available to play. Markkanen's left hamstring strain also held him out of Saturday's contest against the Pels, which was his first absence of the season. Averaging 23.7 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 3.3 triples over 15 starts, Markkanen resides on the Round 1/2 edge in 9-category fantasy value. The 26-year-old All-Star looks to get back into the mix on Wednesday against the faltering Memphis Grizzlies, while Simone Fontecchio is a candidate to draw another starting nod on Monday. Ochai Agbaji and Talen Horton-Tucker are other options for increased run in a deep, versatile Jazz rotation. Clarkson, on the other hand, returns from a one-game sit-down due to an illness, which should displace Kris Dunn from Utah's starting group. Clarkson, always a points-league preference, is averaging 18.3 points, 4.6 dimes, and 1.8 treys across 15 starts.
