Giancarlo Stanton To Alter Stance In 2024?
7 months agoNew York Yankees hitting coach Sean Casey said outfielder/designated hitter Giancarlo Stanton "is just a little careful" with his swing and should consider trying his old batting stance. The former MVP looked all kinds of lost during a dismal 2023 campaign that saw him slash a career-low .191/.275/.420 with 24 home runs, 13 doubles, and 60 RBI covering 371 at-bats (101 games). Stanton's albatross of a contract has him on the books for at least four more seasons with a full no-trade clause, so the Yankees will search for whatever answers they can find to help the five-time All-Star rediscover his form. Stanton is a way-too-early 2024 fantasy rebound candidate by default while bound to be carrying his lowest ADP in recent memory, but he's still likely to be a liability in the batting average and stolen bases categories.
