Vikings Pick Up Justin Jefferson’s Fifth-Year Option
1 year agoThe Minnesota Vikings exercised superstar wide receiver Justin Jefferson's fifth-year option on Tuesday. It keeps the All-Pro wideout under contract with the team until 2024 when he will make around $20 million before becoming an unrestricted free agent in the subsequent season. It's no secret that Minnesota will likely have to make Jefferson the highest-paid player at his position if they want to retain him when the time for extension talks inevitably arises. That discussion could happen as early as this summer as the Vikings aim to lock up their 23-year-old franchise centerpiece for the future. On the heels of fantasy's overall WR1 season, Jefferson looks to build on his excellence as a cinch pick early in Round 1 across all fantasy formats.
