All right, so it’s the last day of the season. If you’re still trying to milk some cash out of NBA DFS, then I will do my best to help! Obviously the only two teams in the East still battling for the playoffs are the New Orleans Pelicans and the Oklahoma City Thunder. As for the West, the Indiana Pacers and Brooklyn nets are still fighting for the last golden ticket. I think the Eastern Conference teams have greater potential for FanDuel value, but if you want to target players from Indiana and Brooklyn I can't blame you.
Worth the FanDuel Investment
Anthony Davis (NOP, F) - $11,800
I will use the same logic that I used Monday night. The Pelicans will be assuming that the Thunder will beat the Minnesota Timberwolves. If that’s the case, then the Pelicans have to win to remain in the eighth seed of their conference. In a must-win game, Anthony Davis will be flying all over the court and will be the focal point of the offense. Look for another big game for The Brow on Wednesday.
Russell Westbrook (OKC, G) - $12,600
If you can get Russell Westbrook into your lineup with Davis mentioned above, there’s potential for a huge night. Although it may seem more reasonable to choose one, I think rostering both of these players is doable because of all the value in the other games. From resting starters to late-season injuries, you shouldn’t have any trouble finding viable, cheap options to round out a stars and scrubs lineup. We all know that Westbrook is going to take over this game against the T-Wolves, and I for one want to have him in my FanDuel lineup when it happens.
Safer DFS Bargains
These NBA players are on the cheaper side, but you can expect some solid DFS production from them with the potential for star-like numbers.
Zach LaVine (MIN, G) - $6,300
I almost feel like I’m writing the same article over again. LaVine was one category lower in my Monday FanDuel article, and I see no reason to leave him off on Wednesday. Westbrook has proven to give up good FDP to opposing point guards, largely due to his high turnover rate. LaVine has full control of this offense and should get at least another 40 minutes. At this price he makes for a great value play as he and the T-Wolves try to play spoiler for the Thunder on Wednesday night.
Enes Kanter (OKC, C) - $7,400
All right. This is getting a little ridiculous. I know this is practically the same article as Monday, but I can’t stay away from these values. The T-Wolves have no one to match-up with Enes Kanter on the boards. The big man is almost guaranteed another double-double. With a price south of $8,000, Kanter’s potential for a huge game is too good to pass up.
High Risk, High Reward
These inexpensive DFS picks are more trained for the tournament players. If you need to stand out from a crowd, these guys have the potential to hit 30 FDP. On the other hand, don’t be surprised if they come up well short of that mark.
Robert Covington (PHI, F) - $5,400
35.1. 33.1. 34.9. Any guess what those numbers are? Yep, those are the FDPs from Robert Covington’s last three contests. He has certainly been one of the largest benefactors from the whole end of the year free-for-all that occurs among the last place teams. I don’t see any reason why this production should falter on Wednesday, but the 76ers have nothing to play for (so who really knows). You can feel pretty confident about starting Covington as a solid value play on Wednesday.
Jabari Brown (LAL, G) - $4,100
Thanks to a banged up back court, Jabari Brown has gotten a combined 88 minutes in the past two games. Keep an eye on the statuses of Jeremy Lin and Jordan Clarkson, but odds are Brown will have plenty of minutes again. He has showed the ability to score and assist very well in his limited time as a starter. At this price and against a Kings team that is crawling to the finish line, Brown has the opportunity to strike it big for FanDuel players on Wednesday.
Avoid At All Costs
If it were up to me, these players would have a 0% usage.
Top-Seeded Teams
Same idea as Monday here. Although Klay Thompson and LeBron James made me look stupid, I’m sticking to my guns. I would much rather take the guys who have something to play for or have found new opportunity than the stars who could get pulled from the game at any time. Whether that’s the right move or not has yet to be determined. But hey, at least I’m consistent.
