Week 3 Wide Receiver Rankings & Matchups Analysis

Below you will find our Week 3 wide receivers rankings, to help determine your WR starts/sits for this week, brought to you by Bill Dubiel (@Roto_Dubs), Nick Mariano (@NMariano53) and Ben Ruppert (@Ben_Ruppert_21).

Lead columnist Bill Dubiel also highlights some WR rankings and matchups analysis for Week 3, and draws some matchup conclusions. He tells you who he likes, who he doesn't, and most importantly who he thinks you should be starting in Week 3.

Week 3 Wide Receivers - Rankings & Matchups Analysis

More often than not Antonio Brown will be atop my wide receiver rankings. However, Julio Jones has an unbelievably tasty matchup this week against the Saints' porous secondary, and that gives him the edge this week. Call it 1A and 1B if it makes you feel better.

Speaking of 1A and 1B, Kelvin Benjamin has proved that the gap between him and Devin Funchess is much more significant than most fantasy football experts predicted. He's been arguably the best fantasy receiver through two weeks, and I foresee him continuing his run of dominance as long as he's Cam Newton's number one option in the passing game. It's not an easy matchup against the Vikings in Week 3, but it certainly isn't enough to make me fade him.

Week 3 is going to be where I make my decision on Dez Bryant. He looked much better in Week 2 after a one-catch, eight-yard performance in Week 1, and if he and Prescott can get on the same page against the Bears on Sunday I'll be a believer.

I bought in on Sterling Shepard in the preseason, and boy and I glad that I did. So far the rookie has been terrific, with 11 catches for 160 yards and a score through two games. With defenses paying attention to Odell Beckham, Jr., Shepard should continue to find space every game in the pass-happy Giants offense. He should have a big day as the Redskins secondary keys in on OBJ.

Quincy Enunwa has emerged as the third option behind Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker, and for those savvy enough to add him he's paid dividends. He's a big-bodied receiver who could be in for a big week if either (or both) of Decker or Marshall are out this week. Monitor the situation, and if either is out then Enunwa becomes a legit WR3 for me.

With Donte Moncrief out for over a month, Phillip Dorsett is now an every-week WR3. T.Y. Hilton is still the main burner, meaning Dorsett will probably see a higher number of total targets. I would not be shocked at all if he were to outperform Hilton over the next 4-6 weeks (depending on how long Moncrief is out).

So much for the "three-headed monster" out in Arizona. This offense is Larry Fitzgerald's, and at the moment it's not particularly close. He's an every-week WR2 for me, and Floyd and Brown belong on the bench in all but the deepest of formats. I do believe Fitzgerald's production will tail off later in the season--the dude is old--and when it does Floyd should emerge as a usable option. I'm done with John Brown until he shows me something.
