ANALYSIS: Dallas Cowboys running back Rod Smith tallied 160 total yards and two touchdowns against the Giants on Sunday and has become the most valuable running back in Dallas. Smith has now scored a touchdown in three consecutive games and has scored all four of his touchdowns over that time span as well. He has 235 total yards over those three games, a vast improvement on his 132 yards coming into the last three weeks.

Alfred Morris is still getting the majority of carries in Dallas, as he had 19 carries for 62 yards against New York, but Smith has found a way to be a part of the Dallas backfield. Morris alos had 124 yards against the Redskins in Week 13, so fantasy owners need to be aware that Smith may be limited in his touches, even with his efficiency. For those that do own Morris, you need to be mindful that he has only scored one touchdown this season compared to Smith's four touchdowns.

A matchup against the Raiders, who allow the 13th-most points against running backs, is next on the schedule for Smith, putting him a position to excel. This may be the last game where Smith makes an impact, as Elliott is due back next week, but he seems to be the most valuable back in Dallas for this week. Smith may not be a safe option in all formats, but he has flex appeal in PPR leagues.
