Kenny Minchey Aiming To Provide Stability To Kentucky Offense
Kentucky transfer quarterback Kenny Minchey is set to be the starter in his first season in Lexington. Minchey comes in from Notre Dame, where he only appeared in 10 games over three seasons. He has limited experience as the Irish's backup quarterback, but has talent and has gained invaluable experience learning from the likes of Sam Hartman, Riley Leonard, and CJ Carr. Will Stein handpicked Minchey as his guy for year one at Kentucky, and has been coaching him up all spring. Behind Stein's offensive mind, Minchey is in a good system for his further development. The Wildcats have struggled mightily on offense the past few seasons, and the combination of Minchey and Stein should help provide a bit of stability to what has been an unwatchable unit.

Austin Simmons Hoping To Grasp Opportunity At Missouri
Once touted as the next star quarterback at Ole Miss, Austin Simmons now finds himself at a different SEC school after losing the starting job to Trinidad Chambliss in 2025. While he doesn't have a ton of experience after sitting behind Jaxson Dart in 2024 and Chambliss for the majority of last season, Simmons has natural talent. His career-defining moment to date remains his clutch drive against Georgia in 2024 while filling in for an injured Dart. Simmons has thrown for 1,026 yards, six touchdowns, and five interceptions in his career, and will look to continue the connection with former Ole Miss teammate Cayden Lee at Missouri.

Tre Richardson Set For Large Role At Louisville
Junior wide receiver Tre Richardson broke out at Vanderbilt last season, recording 46 receptions for 806 yards and seven touchdowns. Richardson had transferred in from Hutchinson Community College in Kansas, where he started his college football journey as a freshman. He now finds himself on a Louisville team that is desperate for weapons after losing their top three receivers in Chris Bell, Caullin Lacy, and Dacari Collins. Richardson's elite speed helped prompt his breakout last season, and should set him up as the Cardinals' top target in 2026.

Kendre' Harrison Hoping To Make Immediate Impact As Freshman
Oregon's room of weapons is stacked, but true freshman tight end Kendre' Harrison is still in line to potentially make an impact right out of the gate. With Kenyon Sadiq off to the NFL, Jamari Johnson is expected to step up into a more prominent role. However, Johnson still recorded 510 receiving yards and three touchdowns in 2025. That leaves room for a player like Harrison, a five-star recruit, to step up and make some noise. Harrison was the 15th-ranked player in the 2026 class and was also ranked as a basketball prospect. The dual-sport athlete physically stood out this spring for the Ducks and could be an instant red-zone threat for what should be another prolific Oregon offense.

Georgia Tech Makes Offers to Knox Kiffin, Andrew Smart
Brent Key is getting ahead of the game on the recruiting trail. As of Thursday, the sons of SEC coaches Lane Kiffin and Kirby Smart both now hold Georgia Tech offers. Knox Kiffin (class of 2028) holds a few power conference offers, and has now added the Yellow Jackets to the mix. Andrew Smart (class of 2030) is just entering his freshman year and has not announced any offers publicly. Key very well may be the first coach to extend an offer to his rival coach's son. As for Kiffin, he currently holds offers from SMU, Washington, California, and Missouri. He has stated that he does not want to play for his father at the college level, making him an intriguing name in the 2028 class.

Clemson Wide Receiver Tristan Smith Granted 2026 Eligibility
Clemson wide receiver Tristan Smith was granted a temporary injunction against the NCAA through Pickens County Court, giving him a fifth year of college football eligibility. Smith's initial waiver to the NCAA was denied, leading him to go through the judicial process to gain an extra year of eligibility. Smith spent two years at Hutchinson Community College in Kansas before transferring to Southeast Missouri State in 2024, where he stood out. He recorded 24 catches for 239 yards and a touchdown in his debut season at Clemson in 2025. He is now set to play the 2026 season on a temporary injunction.

DeSean Bishop a Candidate to Lead SEC in Rushing
Tennessee running back DeSean Bishop replaced SEC Offensive Player of the Year Dylan Sampson nicely in 2025, totaling 1,211 yards and 16 touchdowns on 197 touches. The Knoxville native is slated to be Tennessee's featured back once again, and he could be leaned on heavily as the Vols break in either of their freshman quarterbacks, Faizon Brandon or George MacIntyr. Head coach Josh Heupel is known for his explosive passing attack, but Tennessee ranked first in the SEC in rushing yards per game in 2023 and 2024. Heupel builds his offense to fit his players, and Tennessee leads the conference in returning offensive line snaps. Don't be surprised if the 2026 offense looks like the 2024 offense, which saw Sampson rush for 1,491 yards. Bishop is a prime candidate to be among the league's leaders in rushing yards.

Arch Manning Better Set Up for Success in 2026
Texas quarterback Arch Manning was one of the most hyped-up quarterbacks in recent memory heading into last season, but as a first-year starter, he had plenty of struggles, especially early in the season. However, Manning turned the corner in the second half of the year, averaging 286.2 passing yards per game, scoring 19 touchdowns, and throwing five interceptions over his final six games. He faced the No. 9, No. 5, No. 3, and No. 18-ranked teams during that stretch. Wide receiver Ryan Wingo is back in Austin, and the program brought in former Auburn star wideout Cam Coleman, forming one of the best wide receiver duos in the country. Running transfers Hollywood Smothers (NC State) and Raleek Brown (Arizona State) should give the rushing attack a much-needed boost after last year's rough showing on the ground. With a full season under his belt and an improved supporting cast, Manning could live up to the Heisman Trophy hype in his fourth year in Austin.

Kewan Lacy Primed for Another Big Workload
Ole Miss running back Kewan Lacy was one of the biggest breakout stars of the 2025 campaign, accumulating 1,567 rushing yards, 177 receiving yards, and 24 touchdowns. Though Lane Kiffin and Charlie Weis Jr. have moved on to LSU, the Rebels hired former Ole Miss co-offensive coordinator John David Baker to run their offense this season. And more importantly, star quarterback Trinidad Chambliss is back in Oxford. Baker has familirary with what Kiffin and Weis were dialing up over the last few seasons, and the threat of Chambliss as a passer and runner should keep defenses honest, setting Lacy up for another productive season. Lacy was a first-team All-American in his first year as a starter, and a big season in 2026 should put him in the RB1 conversation in the 2027 NFL Draft.

Turbo Richard Bound for Stardom with Indiana?
After rushing 145 times for 749 yards and catching 30 passes for 213 yards (13 total touchdowns), former Boston College running back Turbo Richard decided to take his talents to Bloomington. He joins the defending College Football Playoff National Champions, and he could be one of the sport's breakout stars in 2026. With Roman Hemby and Kaelon Black out of town, Richard has the opportunity to earn a featured role in Indiana's offense, though the team returned Khobie Martin and Lee Beebe Jr. from last year's squad. Richard is a do-it-all back with tackle-breaking ability, and he'll surely be in the spotlight as a junior thanks to his name and the program he is set to play for.

Alonza Barnett III Brings Winning Pedigree to UCF
UCF quarterback Alonza Barnett III was brought in from James Madison to help turn the program around in the second tenure of the Scott Frost era in Orlando. Barnett is fresh off leading James Madison to a College Football Playoff appearance and has a 21-6 overall record as a starter. The fifth-year senior tallied over 5,000 passing yards, 1,000 rushing yards, and 71 total touchdowns in two seasons as JMU's starter. UCF is expected to be among the worst teams in the Big 12, but heroic quarterback play can flip the script in a hurry. Barnett is one of the top transfer quarterbacks to watch in 2026.

Colton Joseph Looking to Solve Wisconsin's Quarterback Woes
Former Old Dominion quarterback Colton Joseph is slated to take over the Wisconsin QB1 job after the team saw abysmal results on offense in 2025. Last season, the Badgers passed for just 1,637 yards, nine touchdowns, and 13 interceptions between four quarterbacks. It was about as bad as it gets, and head coach Luke Fickell has yet to solve the quarterback problem. Enter Joseph, who tallied 2,624 passing yards, 1,007 rushing yards, and 34 total touchdowns in his final season with the Monarchs. Joseph will bring much-needed athleticism to the Badgers' offense and can create offense on his own when receivers aren't getting separation. If Wisconsin finally turns things around under Fickell, Joseph will be a significant reason why.

Georgia Tech's Offense Could Run Through Justice Haynes
Georgia Tech running back Justice Haynes comes to Atlanta after two seasons at Alabama and one year at Michigan. The veteran flashed big-time upside with the Wolvarines, rushing 121 times for 857 yards and 10 touchdowns. He averaged 7.1 yards per carry, but he was limited to just seven games. Had he been fully healthy, he could have pushed to rush for north of 1400 yards. Georgia Tech is breaking in transfer starting quarterback Alberto Mendoza, so don't be surprised if Haynes is heavily leaned on throughout the 2026 campaign. Head coach Brent Key is a former offensive line coach who loves to pound the football. A big season out of Haynes could propel him to be one of the top running back prospects in the 2027 NFL Draft.

Parker Livingstone Steps into WR2 Role for Oklahoma
Oklahoma wide receiver Parker Livingstone, who transferred from rival Texas in this year's portal cycle, is slated to be quarterback John Mateer's No. 2 target in the passing game in 2026. Leading wideout Isaiah Sategna III is back in Norman, but Deion Burks, Jaren Kanak, and Keontez Lewis have moved on to the NFL, meaning the team is without its second, third, and fourth leading pass-catchers from last year. As a freshman, Livingstone tallied 29 receptions for 516 yards and six touchdowns for the Longhorns. He's a big-play threat like Sategna and will give Oklahoma a shot at having an explosive passing attack with a healthy Mateer. Livingstone could see more volume in his first season as a Sooner, thanks to ample opportunity to pick up the production of departed players.

Princewill Umanmielen the Next Star in LSU's Defense?
LSU transfer edge rusher Princewill Umanmielen followed his head coach, Lane Kiffin, to Baton Rouge this offseason, and is set to join a talented group of newcomers on the Tigers' defensive front. Last season, the rising senior collected 45 tackles and nine sacks (40 hurries), earning third-team ALL-SEC honors. Defensive coordinator Blake Baker is one of the best assistant coaches in the country and can be expected to put Umanmielen in the right position to succeed in 2026. Playing alongside fellow defensive line transfers Jordan Ross (Tennessee) and Malik Blocton (Auburn), Umanmielen could be the next star rusher in LSU's defense. Don't be surprised if he has an All-American-type season for the new look Tigers.
