Detroit Lions defensive tackle Levi Onwuzurike (knee) will miss the entire 2025 campaign after suffering a torn ACL. He was placed on the physically unable to perform list last week, so now we know why. Onwuzurike just signed a one-year, $5.5 million extension with Detroit after a solid campaign in 2024. Last season, Onwuzurike registered 28 tackles, one tackle for loss, and 1.5 sacks in 16 games (10 starts) with the Lions. This is a tough blow to Detroit who was crushed by injuries last season. It's unclear how the team plans to fill the void at the tackle spot.--Andy WebbSource: Detroit Lions

Texas Rangers infield prospect Sebastian Walcott went 3-for-4 at the plate on Saturday for Double-A Frisco, including a pair of singles, a home run, two RBI, two runs scored, and two stolen bases. It was his second home run in the last three games, now slashing .244/.341/.392 with 10 home runs and 22 steals through 80 games. Although the batting average doesn't show it, the 19-year-old is more than holding his own given his age, striking out at a slightly better than average rate of 21.6 percent and registering a 12.2 percent walk rate to complement the other counting stats. The Bahamian is the game's fourth-ranked prospect overall, and with one of the best power/speed combos, dynasty managers should be stashing the future fantasy impact player away, with a major league debut potentially coming next year.--Jarod RuppSource: MiLB.com

Chicago Bears defensive back Jaylon Johnson has been placed on the non-football injury list on Saturday. The Bears also placed Case Keenum, Jahdae Walker, and Ian Wheeler on the NFI list as well. The good news is that none of these players are reportedly dealing with anything serious. The Bears certainly need Johnson healthy by the start of the season. The two-time Pro Bowl defensive back figures to remain an important part of this defense going forward. He recorded 53 tackles, eight passes defended, and two interceptions in 17 games last season. Johnson figures to be ready to go by the beginning of the season.--Andy WebbSource: chicagobears.com

Detroit Tigers infield prospect Kevin McGonigle went 3-for-4 with a walk, a pair of singles, and a double for Double-A Erie on Saturday, stealing a base, scoring once, and collecting two RBI in the process. It was the second straight game with a double and his best showing yet since being promoted to Double-A, now with five games under his belt at that level. The Tigers' top-ranked prospect (MLB No. 6) was raking at High-A before his promotion, slashing .372/.462/.648 with seven home runs in 36 games. The left-handed slugger shot up the prospect ranks last year and has done the same thing this year, positioning himself well for a potential promotion to Triple-A by season's end. Armed with one of the best hit tools in the minors, McGonigle should be stashed away in dynasty formats and could be making waves in redraft leagues as soon as next year.--Jarod RuppSource: MiLB.com

Cincinnati Bengals tight end Erick All Jr. (knee) has been placed on the active/physically unable to perform list on Saturday. This was expected as All is still recovering from a torn ACL that he suffered in Week 9 of last season. Before that, All registered 20 receptions for 158 yards in nine games (six starts) with the Bengals during his rookie season. There is no timetable for his return, so Mike Gesicki should operate as the primary tight end to start the season. Gesicki is coming off a season where he recorded 65 receptions for 665 yards in 17 games. Those numbers figure to be on the rise considering the Bengals don't have much depth outside of their two star wide receivers.--Andy WebbSource: Aaron Wilson

The New Orleans Saints have signed defensive end Jonathan Bullard to an undisclosed deal on Saturday. Bullard has decided to head to New Orleans after visiting with the team last month. The 31-year-old has spent each of the last three seasons with the Minnesota Vikings. During that time, Bullard registered 108 tackles and three sacks across 46 games (38 starts) with the Vikings. Bullard is more known for his impact defending the run than passing situations. That being said, Bullard is likely going to be a rotational player on the Saints, but has enough talent to make an impact as a part-time player.--Andy WebbSource: Mike Garafolo

Colorado Rockies third base/outfield prospect Charlie Condon went 2-for-4 on Saturday for Double-A Hartford, collecting a single, a solo home run, and he was also hit by a pitch. It was the second straight game with a home run for the Rockies' top-ranked prospect, who is now riding a five-game hit streak, too. The 2024 first-rounder is slashing .297/.400/.514 through 11 games at Double-A, although a high 35.6 percent strikeout rate is something to keep an eye on. The 22-year-old got a late start to the season due to a wrist injury he suffered in the spring, but slashed .312/.431/.420 in 35 games at High-A, which earned him the promotion to Hartford. If he can continue to hit, another promotion could be on the way, and a late-season debut is still on the table.--Jarod RuppSource: MiLB.com

Houston Astros infielder Shay Whitcomb has been recalled from Triple-A Sugar Land this weekend. The expectation is that Whitcomb will take over the active roster spot with Isaac Paredes (hamstring) going down during Saturday's game. The Astros haven't officially said Paredes is heading to the injured list, but that announcement should come soon. Whitcomb hasn't really received a fair shot at the big league level with only 32 games under his belt in parts of two seasons. He was slashing .275/.359/.554 with 19 home runs and 43 RBI across 65 games in Triple-A this season. Assuming Paredes goes to the IL, Whitcomb should get fairly regular playing time in Houston. He's not someone that needs to be rostered until he can prove that he's able to hit big league pitching.--Andy WebbSource: Brian McTaggart

New York Mets pitching prospect Brandon Sproat threw five innings for Triple-A Syracuse on Saturday, allowing zero earned runs (one unearned run) on one hit and one walk while striking out nine batters. It's now a dominant four-game stretch for the righty, posting a 0.00 ERA, 0.61 WHIP, and an elite 25.9 percent K-BB% in his last 23 innings pitched. The 24-year-old allowed six earned runs on three separate occasions earlier this season, and as a result, his season-long ERA still stands at a high 4.34, but he's clearly rolling now. The Mets' fifth-ranked prospect appears to be on the doorstep to an MLB debut, so managers in deep leagues who are looking for pitching help should consider stashing the 6-foot-3 hurler in advance of an eventual call-up.--Jarod RuppSource: MiLB.com

Tampa Bay Rays second baseman Brandon Lowe (foot) was forced to make an early exit from Saturday's game against the Baltimore Orioles. He was pulled out after grounding out to third base in the sixth inning. That was a bad sign considering Lowe just returned from an oblique injury on Friday. It's not an oblique issue, but Lowe is dealing with plantar fasciitis in his left foot. He won't be in the starting lineup on Sunday, but is reportedly available off the bench. It's the kind of issue that really only heals with rest, so fantasy managers should consider Lowe as day-to-day.--Andy WebbSource: Marc Topkin

Houston Astros starting pitcher Spencer Arrighetti (thumb) took the mound for a rehab start with Double-A Corpus Christi on Saturday. This was his first rehab start since Arrighetti fractured his thumb in early April. It was a solid outing as he tossed three scoreless innings, allowing one hit, and striking out four batters. He'll need a few more rehab starts to build up stamina before being cleared to return to Houston. The expectation is that Arrighetti will be back in the mix around early or mid-August. Fantasy managers in need of pitching help might want to stash Arrighetti on their IL with his return looming.--Andy WebbSource: milb.com

Chicago White Sox pitching prospect Noah Schultz was warming up when something did not feel right, and he was subsequently scratched from his start on Saturday for Triple-A Charlotte with what is being described as right knee discomfort. Chicago's top-ranked prospect (MLB No. 15) was set to make his fourth start for the Knights, looking to improve upon his bloated 11.91 ERA and 2.29 WHIP that he's recorded so far through three starts at Triple-A. Before that, the southpaw had recorded a 3.34 ERA and 1.59 WHIP at Double-A prior to his promotion. The 6-foot-10 hurler hadn't shown control problems before 2025, but this year he's had the same walk rate between both levels, coming in at 14.4 percent, which has given him a lowly 8.8 percent K-BB% for the year. It's not clear if he'll need to miss any additional starts, but a 2025 MLB debut is looking less and less likely.--Jarod RuppSource: Scott Merkin

Houston Astros third baseman Isaac Paredes (hamstring) was forced to make an early exit from Saturday's game against the Seattle Mariners. He was taken out of the game after showing signs of discomfort after singling in the third inning. It's worth noting that Paredes missed time in June due to a hamstring issue. Possibly, Paredes has re-aggravated the issue during Saturday's game. According to Brian McTaggart, Paredes feels worse this time around and will undergo an MRI on Sunday. It's extremely likely that Paredes is placed on the injured list with Shay Whitcomb and Jon Singleton being recalled ahead of Sunday's contest.--Andy WebbSource: Brian McTaggart

Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Mookie Betts was not in the starting lineup during Saturday's contest. Manager Dave Roberts said he wanted to give Betts a mental break given his offensive struggles heading into the All-Star break. It has been ugly as Betts has only 21 hits over his last 30 games. Roberts mentioned that Betts will sit out Saturday and potentially Sunday as well. It sounds like the team is taking it day-by-day and seeing how Betts feels mentally. Fantasy managers should stick with Betts through his struggles as he's a stud when he's clicking. Miguel Rojas started on Saturday and figures to get another nod at shortstop if Betts remains out again.--Andy WebbSource: Jack Harris

Arizona Diamondbacks second baseman Ketel Marte (personal) is expected to be back with the team ahead of Sunday's game against the St. Louis Cardinals. Marte has been away from the team since Friday due to a personal matter. That being said, Marte has missed the first two games of this series, but is expected to play on Sunday. Fantasy managers should expect Marte back ahead of first pitch, so they should be able to get him into their lineups on Sunday. Blaze Alexander has started at second base in each of the last two games and figures to head to the bench.--Andy WebbSource: Sports Illustrated

Edmonton Oilers forward Matthew Savoie played in only a handful of games in 2024-25 but is expected to become a regular in the lineup next season. "There is some growth from within," Oilers general manager Stan Bowman said. "I think Matt Savoie is probably poised to take a big step next year." Savoie notched one assist in four NHL outings last season while going for 54 points (19 goals, 35 assists) in 66 AHL games for the Bakersfield Condors. The 21-year-old is an exciting talent, and Edmonton seems ready to give him every chance to become an important part of the team. However, fantasy managers shouldn't expect too much too soon from Savoie.--Taavi PailkSource: NHL.com

Right wing Blake Wheeler announced his retirement from the NHL on Saturday. He will hang up his skates after missing the entire 2024-25 season. Wheeler, who will be 39 next month, played in 1,172 regular-season games, mostly with the Winnipeg Jets. He captained the Jets for six years and became the franchise's all-time leader in games (897), assists (550), and points (812). The speedy forward was a two-time All-Star and notched 943 career points (321 goals, 622 assists). Only 13 American-born players have registered more points in the NHL.--Taavi PailkSource: NHL.com

William Byron has never won at Dover before as his best finishes here have been a trio of fourths, but he has also not lacked for speed as he has led 250 laps in the last four races, including 229 in the last two. In the 2023 race, he made the first two passes for the lead and he also made another in last year's race. He feels more suitable on this track type than the four drivers starting in front of him with the possible exception of Chase Elliott, so he could easily be one of the most likely drivers to dominate the race. However, at $10,500, he is also mighty expensive for a driver who has rarely finished better than he is starting today. Although he could easily win, starting either Denny Hamlin, Ryan Blaney, or Kyle Larson seem like safer bets since they are starting worse in the field. Byron is still nonetheless one of the strongest options.--Sean Wrona - RotoBallerSource: Racing Reference

Although 23XI Racing stands to lose a lot of money from the revocation of their charter, they could easily make some of it back if Tyler Reddick wins NASCAR's $1,000,000 In-Season Challenge, and he's certainly the favorite since he's the only likely playoff-bound driver remaining in the Final Four. However, despite being the only driver to earn top ten finishes in all three races in the bracket, he has curiously lacked speed compared to the last three seasons and is often tending to finish better than he runs, which is uncharacteristic of him. That lack of speed is not inspiring since he has usually lacked speed on shorter pave ovals as well and at Dover, he's never finished better than 7th, which means he's likely to lose spots from his 4th-place starting position. The No. 45 team will be intensely motivated to advance in the bracket and make some of their money back, but Reddick's speed has been shaky enough to make him a very risky option.--Sean Wrona - RotoBallerSource: Racing Reference

After back-to-back top tens on road/street courses at Chicago and Sonoma, Gibbs is now somewhat alive to point his way into the NASCAR playoffs and he has also made the semifinal of NASCAR's In-Season Challenge, where he will face Tyler Reddick. Although Gibbs is nowhere near as good on any other track type typically as he is on road courses, he hasn't been terrible at Dover, as he finished 13th and 10th in his first two starts and improved from his starting position in both. Now starting 9th at a track where Joe Gibbs Racing could very well dominate, he might be poised to upset Reddick, who he did beat by a single position last year. He's probably not worth starting because his starting position is too good at a track where he will likely finish worse, but he might be worth a bet in the bracket since Reddick's speed has been shakier than Gibbs's lately.--Sean Wrona - RotoBallerSource: Racing Reference

Dover has been one of Joey Logano's worst tracks throughout his career as he has never finished better than third and he has only ever led 41 laps here. One thing that can be said for him here is that he usually gets a finish, but he isn't a great option for DFS play today because he is starting 8th and is likely to finish worse than that, particularly in a year where he keeps making stupid mistakes and finishes worse than he runs. Starting where he is, he's likely only valuable if he either leads a lot of laps or gets a lot of fastest laps, but he probably won't be near enough to the front to do either of those things. He's by no means one of the worst options for DFS play, but he isn't a great one.--Sean Wrona - RotoBallerSource: Racing Reference

Although Kyle Busch has been substantially worse at most tracks since he switched from Joe Gibbs Racing to Richard Childress Racing, Dover Motor Speedway is one of the main exceptions. For how much he has lacked speed elsewhere, Busch actually won poles here in each of his last two starts and he's led a combined 192 laps in the last three Next Gen races, which is not typical for him of any track at late. Busch doesn't necessarily need to win to make the playoffs since he is only 37 points behind a collapsing Bubba Wallace, but he is probably intensely motivated to end his winless streak at a time when many of the top drivers seem to be ignoring the current races to prepare for the playoffs. Starting Busch is a high-volatility option anywhere these days, and since he's starting 10th it's a big risk, but since it's conceivable he could dominate here (unlike most tracks) it might be a risk worth taking.--Sean Wrona - RotoBallerSource: Racing Reference

John Hunter Nemechek has slight value for today's race at Dover because he starts poorly (28th), he has gained positions in all three of his previous starts here, and he's been reliably consistent in finishing either 20th or 24th in all three of his starts in '20 and '24. After a long litany of crashes those two years, he's actually kept it somewhat clean this year but he doesn't have much speed. You can likely count on him to finish better than his starting position, but it probably won't be by enough to make him one of the best options. Nonetheless, he might be worth signing at $5,700 if you want to start more of the higher-dollar options. Given their usual performance here, it seems very unlikely that Nemechek will lose his round in the In-Season Challenge to Ty Dillon and he will likely advance to the finals against one of the other Tylers.--Sean Wrona - RotoBallerSource: Racing Reference

Michael McDowell is one of the absolute worst options for DFS consideration today as he starts 7th at Dover, a track where he has never finished better than 17th. This means he is almost certain to lose positions and score extremely few DFS points as a result. His previous best starting position of 8th came in last year's race, where he had a hub failure and finished next-to-last, which does not inspire confidence, although admittedly that was a mechanical failure for a different team. Starting where McDowell is, he's only really valuable if he leads laps or sets a lot of fastest laps, which does not seem likely for him at a track where he's only led nine laps. McDowell is a must to avoid.--Sean Wrona - RotoBallerSource: Racing Reference

Ever since Roger Penske fired Tim Cindric as Team Penske President in the wake of their Indy 500 qualifying cheating scandal, Tim's son Austin has steadily faded to his typical mediocrity. That could just be a coincidence as plenty of other teams seem to be giving up on the regular season races once they win their way into the playoffs, as Cindric did at Talladega. Furthermore, Cindric has only really been fast lately on drafting tracks and intermediates and the series has pivoted away from those tracks in recent months. As a result, don't count on Cindric turning it around at Dover, a track which is not exactly his metier. Cindric's 26th-place starting position is his worst ever at a track where he has never finished better than 15th. He starts poorly enough that he could have value, but it's more likely that his recent lack of performance except on two track types will override that.--Sean Wrona - RotoBallerSource: Racing Reference

Erik Jones's chances of pointing into the playoffs are likely over after two typically subpar road course runs back-to-back, but now as NASCAR returns to the ovals, Jones might get back into the groove as he had six straight finishes of 17th or better on ovals before the road course swing. Although he typically does better on the larger superspeedways than the shorter ones, Jones has been reliably consistent at Dover with no finishes of worse than 22nd even if he's never been much of a contender for the lead having never led a lap at the track. His first two top ten finishes came in his Joe Gibbs Racing years, but he did finish 10th in his strong underdog 2022 season and this is the best he's been since then. Since he starts 27th thanks to his poor road course performances, worse than he ever has here, he has a lot of value, especially because he only costs $6,300 in DFS.--Sean Wrona - RotoBallerSource: Racing Reference

Zane Smith starts 30th for today's race at Dover, smack dab in between his Front Row Motorsports teammates Todd Gilliland and Noah Gragson, who start 24th and 36th respectively. It's unclear what effect NASCAR's revocation of FRM's charter will have on the team's performance, especially after their appeal was denied. However, it's pretty rare for teams to DNQ anywhere except the Daytona 500 these days so it will likely have little effect. Smith has been the best FRM driver all season and is likely the best option for DFS play, especially when noting that he improved from 37th to 24th in last year's race, indicating he has some definite potential for Place Differential points. However, Dover is a track where speed tends to be paramount because it is so easy to be lapped and FRM doesn't have a lot of speed. He's worth a shot if you want to start several more expensive drivers, but there are better options elsewhere.--Sean Wrona - RotoBallerSource: Racing Reference

Gilliland has his best-ever starting performance at Dover, where he starts 24th after qualifying was rained out even though he is currently lower in points than he finished any previous season. When considering both that fact and the fact that he has never finished better than 25th here, he is very likely to lose positions in this race from his starting position and is unlikely to score many DFS points. His 31st-place finish last year is fairly unrepresentative because he had an early crash and finished 21 laps down, but even when he did not have trouble in 2022 and 2023, he finished four laps down both times and you can likely expect more of the same tomorrow. For DFS play, Gilliland is best avoided even at the low price of $5,400.--Sean Wrona - RotoBallerSource: Racing Reference

Even by his very low standards, Cody Ware has not been terrible at Dover Motor Speedway. In five starts, he has an average finish of 34th. He crashed out in both 2018 and 2021 and has never finished better than 13 laps down here. In general, drivers for the slowest teams should be avoided at Dover because it is substantially easier to get lapped there than at most other tracks. The only places where you might conceivably want to start Ware are either tracks that are long enough that the slower cars won't get lapped or races that have a lot of attrition, but neither of those apply to Dover as only an average of five failed to finish here in the Next Gen era. Even with Ware costing only $4,700 and starting 35th, you should not be tempted.--Sean Wrona - RotoBallerSource: Racing Reference

Arizona Diamondbacks third baseman Eugenio Suarez continued to show off his tremendous power Saturday in a 10-1 rout of the St. Louis Cardinals. Suarez posted his fifth multi-home run game of the season, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and a walk. The 34-year-old has slugged a major league-leading 18 HRs since June 1 and now has an NL-best 33 on the season. He's also slashing an outstanding .254/.326/.585 with an NL-high 81 RBI and 61 runs scored over 399 plate appearances. Suarez has been the subject of plenty of trade rumors leading up to the July 31 deadline, and he's continuing to boost his stock. The Diamondbacks, who are 4 1/2 games back of a wild-card spot, will have to decide whether to move the two-time All-Star.--Connor ByrneSource: ESPN
