3/15:Throughout spring training, Diamondbacks ace Zack Greinke has been experiencing diminished velocity in his fastball. His most recent start was slightly better, as he hit 91 mph four times in the first innin and 90 mph three times in the second. However, he did not exceed 89 mph after the second inning. Despite the decreased velocity, Greinke pitched well, giving up just two hits and one run while striking out seven over five innings. After the game, Greinke refused to answer questions regarding the issues. D'Backs pitching coach Mike Butcher says that Greinke is right where he should be with his velocity. The progress of Grienke's arm strength is well worth monitoring, as his draft stock will plummet if his velocity doesn't ramp back up. The 33-year-old is a risky pick with so many questions surrounding his season.--Jonathan Chan - Rotoballer
