6 months agoMiami Marlins starting pitcher prospect Zac Gallen will reportedly be called up to start in place of Pablo Lopez against the St. Louis Cardinals on Thursday. Lopez will reportedly head to the injured list. Coincidentally, the Marlins acquired Gallen from the Cardinals in their 2017 trade of Marcell Ozuna. While Gallen lacks top-100 prospect pedigree, he has a 1.77 ERA, 3.25 FIP, and 117-12 K-BB ratio in 91 1/3 innings in the Triple-A Pacific Coast League in 2019. He also pitched in the PCL last season, to a 3.65 ERA and 4.33 FIP. Outside of dynasty formats, it's best to wait and see how the 23-year-old Gallen performs at the MLB level before jumping on him in fantasy.--Nate Green - RotoBaller
