6 months agoTampa Bay Rays third baseman Yandy Diaz (hamstring) did infield drills and took batting practice on Wednesday and felt fine. There is a good chance he comes off the injured list and returns to the starting lineup on Thursday. Diaz has become a regular at the hot corner in his first season in Tampa and is batting a fine .286/.363/.502 with 11 home runs, 36 runs, 31 RBI and a steal in 217 at-bats for a sneaky good Rays squad. He's walked 27 times and fanned 41 times on the season. He'd be facing Twins left-handed starting pitcher Martin Perez on Thursday if he indeed returns from the injured list. You'll want to get him back in your lineups right away.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
