Xander Boegarts 2019 Outlook: Looking to Replicate 100 RBI Season
6 years agoLast year, Boston Red Sox shortstop Xander Boegarts missed 26 games, but still eclipsed the triple-digit RBI mark with 103 on the season. He finished with an impressive slash line of .288/.360/.522 to go along with 23 home runs and eight steals. It was the first season since 2014 that Boegarts did not finish with double-digit steals, so it will be interesting to see if he can regain his speed on the base paths, as finishing with 12-to-15 steals will up his value over the course of the year. Currently, the RotoBaller Rankings have him ranked as the #8 shortstop and #46 overall player. Being in the Red Sox potent lineup will help him cash in with more run producing opportunities, but he will likely be lower in the daily lineup than if he were on another ball club. Either way, the investment in Boegarts is well worth your while if you choose to look his way on draft day.
