Willy Adames 2022 Player Outlook: Solid Mid-Range Shortstop At His 145 ADP
3 years agoMilwaukee Brewers shortstop Willy Adames slashed .262/.337/.481 with 25 home runs, 73 RBI, 77 runs scored, and five stolen bases over 140 games in 2021. The shortstop struggled to hit at Tropicana Field (75% of his homers came away from Tropicana) but mashed on the road throughout his career. In April, he struggled mightily for the Rays (.169/.207/.301 slash line) before a trade in May to Milwaukee salvaged his fantasy season. The 26-year-old posted a career-best barrel rate (11.4%), wOBA (.377), and hard-hit rate (44.7%) over 99 games with the Brewers. Adames is expected to hit second in Milwaukee's lineup and is entrenched as the team's starting shortstop. He will have a productive season, and Cutter/ATC projections are on board with Adames continuing to rake in Milwaukee. The former Tampa Bay Ray is projected to hit 26-28 homers, swipe six bags, and hit a .260 average in 2022. Fantasy managers can't expect a meteoric rise from last year's numbers; Adames should produce and is roughly fair value at his ADP of 145.
