Will Mallory 2024 Outlook – Don’t Expect Him To Be The Next Dallas Clark
6 months agoMiami Hurricanes product Mallory showed flashes that he can make it in the NFL during his 2023 rookie campaign. The big-bodied tight end was able to catch 18 passes for 207 yards in limited duty in his first season. Mallory did not have a 50-yard game or score a touchdown, so his fantasy value was nil, even though tight end teammate Jelani Woods missed the entire year due to a hamstring injury. Training camp will be interesting as Mallory will be battling the returning Woods and veterans Kylen Granson and Mo Alie-Cox for a spot on the roster and to be the top tight end on the team. The second-year man has physical potential but was drafted in the fifth round and was thought of as a TE2 or TE3 coming out of college. While the Colts tight end troupe is not filled with Pro Bowl players, Mallory will probably be hard-pressed to get on the field enough and receive enough targets to make a fantasy impact. Look for Mallory to make the team since he is cheap, young, and has upside, but his only fantasy worth is as a late-round flyer in a dynasty league if you think he can become Anthony Richardson's No. 1 TE by 2025.
