7/16:The Washington Nationals and Oakland A's agreed to a trade on Sunday, with relievers Sean Doolittle and Ryan Madson heading to D.C. while the A's acquired Blake Treinen, Jesus Luzardo, and Sheldon Neuse. Washington's bullpen has been much maligned this season as Nats relievers came into Sunday with the highest ERA in the majors. Both Doolittle and Madson have experience closing, making it unclear just who Washington manager Dusty Baker plans on having handle the ninth inning role. Baker told reporters, "I've got to talk to [Athletics manager] Bob Melvin. Like I said, both of them have closed. I know both of them have had some arm problems in the past, so it could be both of them. So we'll see". On the Oakland side, left-handed pitcher Luzardo and third baseman Neuse are the Nationals' sixth and 10th ranked prospects as the A's continue to look to rebuild their ballclub.--Matt Terelle - Rotoballer
