8/11:Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Vince Velasquez was placed on the disabled list on Friday, dealing with an injury to his right middle finger. The 25-year-old only tossed one inning on Thursday, allowing three runs on three hits and a walk while striking out one against the Mets, and then left via injury. Velasquez was not on the mound for the top of the second injury, as he was removed with what the club called “numbness in his right middle finger”, and he will now be on the shelf for at least one start. Velasquez is perhaps the most frustrating pitcher on Philadelphia’s staff, as he clearly possesses the stuff to be a strong pitcher, but cannot ever seem to get it right. He has a 5.13 ERA this season and is off of the fantasy radar.--Chris Zolli - RotoBaller
