3/16:It’s been a challenging road to recovery for Matt Harvey and unfortunately, those challenges don’t seem to be going away anytime soon. Harvey wasn’t terrible on Tuesday against the Marlins, but it’s clear he has a ways to go. In 3 1/3 innings pitched, Harvey allowed four runs (two earned) on five hits with a walk while striking out three. For the spring overall, Harvey sports an ugly 7.88 ERA and 1.63 WHIP. His velocity is way down than in years past. His fastball has been sitting between 92 and 95 mph while his slider has been coming in at 87 mph. Mets pitching coach Dan Warthen has stressed that while it’s still early, it’s possibly the effects from thoracic outlet surgery could affect Harvey’s velocity all year. The Dark Knight of Queens is the definition of a high-risk, high-reward fantasy investment this year.--Andrew Bua - RotoBaller
