7/17:Colorado Rockies starting pitcher Tyler Chatwood was placed on the 10-day disabled list Sunday, and infielder/outfielder Ian Desmond (calf) was activated from the DL in a corresponding move. Chatwood was removed from his outing against the Mets on Saturday early with a right calf injury. He walked three of the five batters he faced and allowed a three-run homer before departing. Chatwood entered his night Saturday leading the majors with 57 walks, so don't feel compelled to stash him in deeper leagues. Desmond has five home runs and 28 RBI after missing the start of the season with a fractured left hand. He's been a disappointment in Colorado for his fantasy owners, but he should be owned everywhere now that he's back and expected to start most nights. Pitcher Kyle Freeland could be a candidate to return to the rotation with Chatwood injured. With Desmond likely to play first base most often, that'll cut down on the opportunities Mark Reynolds receives.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
