Tom Brady 2020 Outlook: Bounce-Back Candidate With Tampa Bay
5 years agoIn what proved to be his final season with the Patriots, Tom Brady managed to finish as fantasy QB11, but he did not help owners win their leagues with his second half performance. Struggling to overcome a mediocre supporting cast around him, Brady had only two outings with more than 17 fantasy points after Week 8. Brady’s 4,057 passing yards were his lowest over a full season since 2010, and his 24 TD passes were his lowest in a full campaign since 2006. His 6.6 Yards Per Attempt were his lowest since 2002. The end of a marvelous era with the Patriots came to an end in the offseason as Brady signed a two-year contract with the Buccaneers. Now the fantasy outlook for Brady has improved as he works with arguably the best pair of wideouts in the NFL. Having Chris Godwin and Mike Evans as his primary playmakers can boost Brady back into solid back-end QB1 territory. The Buccaneers were eighth in pass/run ratio last season, but likely won’t sling the ball around the yard as frequently as Jameis Winston did. But the move to Tampa Bay is promising enough for the RotoBaller staff to rank him 12th at QB, which is very fair. The ADP of 79 indicates more confidence that he is set to better last year’s totals in 2020. Brady is capable of throwing for 4,400 yards and can approach 30 TDs this season. If you do not grab a Top 10 QB and wait for your starter at the position, grab Brady with some confidence that is deservedly reflected in his ranking and ADP.
