3/19:As the spring season progresses, it’s becoming more and more clear that Mat Latos simply isn’t capable of handling Major League hitting at this point in his career. Competing for a bullpen spot for the Blue Jays, Latos has been rocked all spring and that continued to be the case on Saturday. Latos pitched 3 2/3 innings against Tampa Bay, allowing two earned runs on one hit and two walks with three strikeouts. Overall this spring, Latos holds a 6.94 ERA and 2.19 WHIP over 11 2/3 innings pitched, ugly numbers for a guy hoping to make middle-inning impact. He’s not likely to make the Blue Jays roster at this point, and could be searching for another home soon.--Andrew Bua - RotoBaller
